Meghalaya MTET 2021 Notification, Exam on 28th August 2021

Meghalaya MTET 2021:- The Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Shillong invites applications from the eligible candidates who are looking for a Teaching Job in Meghalaya for Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test MTET 2021. The exam will be held on 28.08.2021. Candidates can submit their applications from 09.08.2021 to 19.08.2021.

Exam Name: MTET 2021 | Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test 2021

  • Age limit:- The candidate should not have crossed 32 years of age (relaxable up to 37 years in the case of SC/ST/Differently Abled candidates) as on the first day of the first month of the year in which the advertisement was made

Minimum Qualifications to appear in the MTET 2021

Paper— I (Lower Primary)

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
Or
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure), Regulations, 2002
Or
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
Or
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
Or
Graduation and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
Or
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
Or
A person who is pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.

Paper-II (Upper Primary)

Graduation and 2 – year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
Or
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
Or
Graduation with at least 45% and 1 – year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with NCTE (recognition norms & procedure), regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
Or
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
Higher Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Se.Ed
Or
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
Or
A person who is pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010.

Relaxation up to 5 % in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled.

Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education recognized by the NCTE only shall be considered. However, in the case of D.Ed (Special Education) and B.Ed (Special Education), a course recognized by the RCI only shall be considered.

Application forms are to be submitted at the following Centres during office hours of any working day:

  • For West Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills: DIET, Tura
  • For East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills: DIET, Resubelpara
  • For South Garo Hills: DIET, Baghmara
  • For West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills: DIET, Nongstoin
  • For West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills: DIET, Thadlaskein
  • For Ri-Bhoi: DIET, Nongpoh
  • For Sohra: DIET, Sohra
  • For Shillong, Pynursla: DERT, Shillong

While filling up the examination form, the applicant’s address in the said form should be as per EPIC.

Examination Fees and FEE Structure
  • Paper— I (Lower Primary): For General candidates Rs. 800/- and for SC/ST/OBC candidates Rs. 400/-
  • Paper-II (Upper Primary): For General candidates Rs. 800/- and for SC/ST/OBC candidates Rs. 400/-
  • For both papers: For General candidates Rs. 1600/- and for SC/ST/OBC candidates Rs. 800/-

PWD candidates are exempted from paying Examination Fees. Admit Cards will be issued by the respective DIETs and DERT Shillong.
